Te combineren met het mooie plaatsje Saffron Walden<\/p>\n<p>Wandeling door het stadje. Je vindt er nog 15e eeuwse huizen met een houten frame. De Romeinen hadden er al een vestiging, de Saksen bewoonden het en in de 12e eeuw kwam er een klooster en een kasteel. De kasteel ru\u00efnes zijn nog zichtbaar en op de plaats van het klooster (opgeheven door Hendrik de achtste) kwam het landhuis Audley End. Na de rust in de 17e en 18e eeuw kwam er weer leven in de brouwerij door de bierbrouwers en de treinlijn.
