Our holiday home Crown Cottage is located in Hartest, a picturesque village in a rural setting. There is a variety of historic cottages around a village green with primary school, butcher's church, doctor and “the Crown” pub, where you can eat and drink in a cozy atmosphere. This protected nature area is really a must for those seeking tranquility.
It is 15 kilometers from the city of Sudbury where there are large supermarkets with even an Aldi. From Sudbury you can take the train to London Liverpool Street station and the ferry in Harwich in just over an hour. Closer to home is Long Melford with its antique shops and country houses that can be visited. The nearby medieval town of Lavenham is also worth a visit
Bury St Edmunds with its lively market and cathedral is just over 10 kilometers north of Hartest and Cambridge can be reached within an hour.
